 The latest news item on [http://speex.org/news/] shows that speex 1.2rc1
 has been out since 2008-07-23.[[br]]
 Some downstream applications are beginning to depend upon this version's
 API.[[br]]
 The widely-used gstreamer "good"* plugins collection (gst-plugins-good)
 fails to build properly against speex (1.0.5) but builds fine against
 speex-devel (1.2rc1).[[br]]
 Would you consider upgrading the non-devel speex port to version 1.2rc1
 since the upstream project seems to be stalled at a release candidate
 version?[[br]][[br]]
 *good in terms of licensing, code quality, documentation, etc.
