 x264 does not install. I get linker errors about missing symbols:
 Undefined symbols:
   "_lame_close", referenced from:
       _MP3lame_encode_init in libavcodec.a(libmp3lame.o)
       _MP3lame_encode_close in libavcodec.a(libmp3lame.o)
   ...
 -> see the attached log.
 Tried to install ffmpeg (default variant) on a relatively fresh macport
 (v1.8.2) installation (only mkvtools and deps have been installed before)
 on a G4/Leopard 10.5.8 with latest XCode. No x264 variant works. Error
 occurs whether x264 is installed as a dependency of ffmpeg or directly.
