 Running Inkscape with gtk2 @2.20.1 produces a lot of these console
 messages:

 Applying the patch mentioned in comment !#11 of upstream Gnome/GTK+
 [https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=616851 Bug 616851 - Gtk-
 CRITICAL **: gtk_misc_set_alignment: assertion `GTK_IS_MISC (misc)'
 failed] solves the issue.
