 Mark, I'm sorry, I was trying to delete your duplicate comment, after
 fixing the formatting of your first comment, but Trac has deleted your
 first comment instead. :(

 Andy, you don't need to do anything special after downgrading to gettext
 0.17. Just clean php52 and install it again and it will use the gettext
 that's currently installed.
