 I'm getting an error when trying to install "texlive-basic".  I have
 texports-20100520.tar.gz extracted locally to be installed under my
 testing prefix ( /Users/arno/Code/macports/development/macports/ ), with
 no ports installed to start from.

 The full debug output is very long, but I can post it if necessary.  The
 end of the attempt is as follows.  It appears that /opt/local is being
 directly referenced somewhere by updmap.
