 I have wanted to do this for a while now. The roadblock is that building R
 requires a fortran compiler (which is the reason for the dependency on
 gcc4x) while building the Aqua/Quartz components requires the Apple
 compilers. I can make it build by mixing and matching the specific pieces
 I need, but I am nervous that doing so might introduce some numerical
 problems (it certainly did in the past).
