 Looks like this has been known upstream for a while:

 Especially since this appears not to be an issue in the latest version of
 Mac OS X, I don't plan to implement a fix in this port. Your best bet if
 you can't upgrade would be to get upstream to integrate the patches from
 the above ticket, or else apply them manually.
