 Hello,

 I would love to get XMMS going again on OSX, one of my fav Linux
 applications of all time. I guess the contributers lost the domain name
 xmms.org and are now using xmms2.org.

 The xmms version 1 listed in MacPorts still points to the old site. I
 cancelled the install, though it may very well have worked.

 I would recommend removing XMMS 1 from the MacPorts listing or perhaps
 using the new site.

Comment:

 Thank you for letting us know.

 Note that we are still able to trust the code just fine, no matter what
 site it came from, because MacPorts records checksums of all distfiles of
 all ports and verifies them. When the xmms port was updated to version
 1.2.11 (see #16595) the xmms.org domain was still under the developers'
 control, so we can trust that the checksums generated at that time are of
 correct software. And I checked just now that the software downloaded from
 that site today still has the same checksums, so it is still the same
 software.

 Still, I agree we should update the homepage and download location to the
 new approved one.
