 I think that this bug is similar to this one :
 http://trac.macports.org/ticket/22924 that was fixed in this revision :
 http://trac.macports.org/changeset/73290
 I'm not a developer so I can't fix it, but maybe someone can do the same
 thing with gpsd that as been done with liblastfm.
