 Yeah sorry did mean 1.0.22.

 I have tried installing the 1.0.22 binary (am I right in thinking this is
 what the ppc uses, and the latest version of sbcl just installs this when
 it detects ppc architecture?) using the subversion command and also by
 downloading the relevant pre update portfile but neither worked.

 If I install the 1.0.22 binary using the terminal alone i.e not through
 macports it builds properly. Can I specify a folder in mcaports to build
 to so that it will detect sbcl? Could I this by manually placing the
 relevant files?
