 Some cairo dependents fail to build with the error in the summary. This is
 a genuine syntax error, but gcc will let it slide unless you're using
 stricter flags like -pedantic.

 A quick search didn't turn up an upstream bug report, but this has been
 reported against various distros, e.g.
 [https://bugs.launchpad.net/cairo/+bug/651183].
