 I was able to get qt-4.7.0 to compile/install through ports (using my
 slightly modified Portfile). It appears that almost all the patches from
 the qt-4.6.x series were applied upstream.

 Now i'm trying to get kdelibs4 to compile. All the patches applied (after
 i edited the patches to reflect changes from kde-4.4.x). It doesn't yet
 configure as it fails to find docbook. I'll work on this more later.
