#26845: clang not included in llvm 2.8_1

clang is not included in llvm 2.8_1. I have macports 1.9.1, running on Mac
OS X 10.6.4, latest ports as of now (14-Oct-2010). There is no clang
variant on llvm, nor is there a clang port.
Apparently from the discussion at http://lists.macosforge.org/pipermail
/macports-users/2010-October/022311.html, there was clang variant (and on
by default), in 2.8_0, but was removed in 2.8_1.
Would it be possible to add clang and possibly the static analyzer tool
(if it is distributed with clang) to the llvm port?
