Comment:

 Thanks for the patch.  Will commit if it passes testing.  As a starter,
 what testing have you done so far (which variants, platforms, etc).
 I'm a little skeptical of the +quartz variant because I think that ige-
 mac-integration is broken for 64 bit platforms.
