 i have a new snow leopard install fresh out of the wrapper (crashed disk
 swapped out; time machine restore; no macports on install)
 same problems
 i've poked through the dependent packages and it *seems* to me there
 is some dependency chain that ImageMagick depends on that is a problem
 like this:

 "python26" ==> "tk" ==> "Xft2" ==>"xrender" ==> "xorg-libX11" ==> "xorg-
 libxcb" ==> "xorg-xcb-proto" ==> "python26" ==> ...
