 Not sure if it is the same ticket, but on trying to install Hugin 0.7 on
 Snow Leopard (10.6.4) via Porticus, I got
 Error: Cannot install hugin-app for the arch(s) 'x86_64' because
 Error: its dependency wxWidgets only supports the arch(s) 'i386 ppc'.

 I installed wxWidgets on its own, then tried again:
 Error: Cannot install hugin-app for the arch(s) 'x86_64' because
 Error: its dependency wxWidgets is only installed for the arch 'i386'
 Error: and does not have a universal variant.
 Error: Unable to execute port: architecture mismatch

 I went and edited my macports conf file according to an FAQ to default to
 x86_64, which it wasn't before. It doesn't seem to affect existing ports
 when running an update.
 The first error indicated it thought wxWidgets only had a PPC variant,
 which evidently was wrong as it installed fine; the second indicate there
 is no 64-bit variant which evidently is a dependency.
 I've downloaded and installed a prebuilt binary of Hugin 0.8 in the
 meantime which works fine.
