 I know what you want to say, but I believe that 9.00rc2 was more stable
 than 8.71 even if it was called a release candidate.
 (Please see the 'History of Ghostscript versions 9.xx' which is installed
 as /opt/local/share/ghostscript/9.00/doc/History9.htm)
