 I'm experiencing a similar problem when trying to build on an 8 core Mac
 Pro.  The parallel jobs flag after gmake is being set to 16 rather than 8
 resulting in the same lavutil error.  I can work around it by setting
 "build.jobs 8" after the #25926 bug fix code in my Portfile.
