 It looks like the OP had MacPorts installed on a PPC system, and then
 moved everything to an Intel system and is now upgrading.  If this is the
 case, please see [https://trac.macports.org/wiki/Migration#ports the
 MacPorts' migration] page.  If not, please explain the circumstances of
 your upgrade.  I'm going to be checking in a significant change to the
 py2X-numpy series to take care of a bunch of tickets.  I do not thing that
 the current diffs will not help here, because this is an arch upgrade
 issue that requires a different solution.
