 My system is currently set so the default build arch is ppc, and for
 universal ppc and ppc64. Python27 compiles and installs fine when
 -universal is set, but fails with +universal (the default).

 The end of the debug log - attached - contains the string; "ValueError:
 Don't know machine value for archs=('ppc', 'ppc64')". So it would seem
 something has a problem with the +universal variant.
