 Universal variant of ppl was disabled since it heavily depends on compile-
 time constants (#26865, r72559), but graphite optimization on universal
 gcc may require universal ppl.

 I propose to re-enable the universal variant by using the muniversal port
 group. As a start, I attached my patchfile here, and I am really happy if
 someone can test it.
