Comment:

 Regarding the description of duplicate ticket #30522:

 Port upgrade does upgrade dependencies in the correct order (provided they
 are correctly declared in the ports). If you have a reproducible test case
 where it does not do that, please provide it. That would be a bug.

 Detecting when a new revision of a port needs to be built because a
 dependency has a newer library version is a related but separate problem,
 and is being worked on by one of our GSoC students.
