Comment:

 This also happens on Snow Leopard with Xcode 4.0.2

 The following with solve the broken compiles on Snow Leopard with Xcode
 4.0.2 (and I would guess Lion and other systems as well):

 Add the line:
 "configure.compiler gcc"

 to the Portfile for arm-elf-gcc. This works for me using Snow Leopard with
 Xcode 4.
