Comment:

 If you install py26-spyder, you may be surprised to find that you can't
 analyze your python code because it can't find a pylint binary in your
 system path.

 I had the same issue with ipython until I used 'port select'. Why do some
 modules have a default (ipython) and others do not? Unless you have a very
 good reason for not doing so, MacPorts should be consistent in the way it
 interacts with a developer's software.
