 Which g-ir-scanner directory?  The build directory at:
 opt/local/var/macports/build/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports
 .org_release_ports_gnome_gobject-introspection/[[BR]]
 gobject-introspection/work/gobject-introspection-0.10.6 ?

 If I run:[[BR]]

 $port clean --all gobject-introspection (which deletes that directory,
 among others)[[BR]]

 $port upgrade gobject-introspection

 I get the same error.
