 You are right, instead this line should have been removed from that user
 message:

     ui_msg "#  'sudo chown -R \$USER ~/Library/Preferences/KDE'  "
 }}}
 since that directory shouldn't have non-$USER permissions anymore (see
 https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=233892 and
 http://trac.macports.org/ticket/26982 ).
