Comment:

 I see now that your log shows you are trying to build pidgin version
 2.7.0. This is extremely out of date, and has been superseded many times
 in MacPorts already. This suggests your ports tree is out of date. Please
 clean pidgin, update MacPorts base and the ports tree using selfupdate,
 and try again. There is no patch failure with the current version of
 pidgin in MacPorts (2.9.0).
