 I also have on old installation. I did a selfupdate, but also did not
 follow migration instructions at first (did not remove everything first).
 I do not remember exactly in what order i did everything after that. But
 since I would have appreciated to find out a bit sooner that a clean would
 suffice to fix it I decided to added it to this thread :-)
