 port -v outdated. Which version of OS X are you running? Did you recently
 upgrade your operating system?

 10.7.1 update a few weeks ago. Occurs after running selfupdate in
 interactive mode.
 {{{
 ~>port -v outdated
 No installed ports are outdated.
 ~>sudo port
 Password:
 MacPorts 2.0.1
 Entering interactive mode... ("help" for help, "quit" to quit)
 [Users/ted] > list outdated
 [Users/ted] > selfupdate
 --->  Updating the ports tree
 ---> Updating MacPorts base sources using rsync
 MacPorts base version 2.0.1 installed,
 MacPorts base version 2.0.1 downloaded.
 ---> MacPorts base is already the latest version

 The ports tree has been updated. To upgrade your installed ports, you
 should run
   port upgrade outdated
 [Users/ted] > list outdated
 }}}
 lists everything
