 In case anyone else has this problem, I solved it by installing as root (I
 have root user enabled on my Mac OS 10.5 system):
 {{{
 su -
 /opt/local/bin/port -vd uninstall dbus
 /opt/local/bin/port -vd clean dbus
 /opt/local/bin/port -vd install dbus
 }}}

 (did the uninstall/cleans because dbus's LaunchAgent copy failed while
 installing p27-spyder)
