New description:

 Executing /Applications/MacPorts/KDE4/kdenlive reports no errors.

 `launchctl load /Library/LaunchAgents/org.freedesktop.dbus-session.plist`
 says "Already loaded".

 ~/Library/Preferences/KDE set correctly.

 `ps auxww | grep -i kde` shows...

 /Applications/MacPorts/KDE4/kdenlive.app/Contents/MacOS/kdenlive
 -psn_0_10222015
 }}}

 So kdenlive process is running and no GUI is presented.

 No useful console messages.

 Someone let me know where the kdenlive startup log lives, to determine the
 start up problem.
