 I have been fiddling with this for the better part of this morning. I have
 tried installing the dependencies in different ways in different orders,
 etc. I have tried installing packages individually and uninstalling,
 cleaning and not.

 xfce4-panel fails every time. I think the relevant lines in the log file
 is:

 I am attaching the complete log file, please let me know if this is a
 legitimate bug or I am a moron; either way I'll be happy.
