 given that
 1) Gimp works fine on linux
 2) Gimp is not officially supporting OSX
 3) Gimp installed on a mac with macports fails to function correctly
 I don't see how this could be anything but a macports problem,
 sure other people who port might have the same problem but that's no
 reason for gimp to do anything about it.
