 If you run /System/Library/CoreServices/Directory\ Utility and look at the
 "macports" account, you will notice that unlike every other account, this
 account is missing the "RealName" attribute.  This causes interesting
 things with the buggy OSX Lion SMB server which shows a mysterious blank
 account has access to your file shares which you can not disable.  The
 work around is to manually edit the account with "Directory\ Utility" and
 add RealName to something like "Mac Ports".

 After that, to disable "macports" access to the shares, you need to set a
 password for the account to something random because you can't disable
 access w/o the password!  Go figure...
