On OSX with case sensitive files.
When installing php5-cairo 0.2.0 it fails
Upon investigation it's trying to enter directory
/opt/local/var/macports/build/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_ports_php_php5-cairo/work/cairo-0.2.0
But the directory is named
/opt/local/var/macports/build/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_ports_php_php5-cairo/work/Cairo-0.2.0
under normal osx this wouldn't be an issue but on case sensitive it is.
once i renamed the folder to lowercase cairo-0.2.0 the installation
proceeded fine.
