atk and port error while upgrading

I am trying to use scala. Scala asked me to:
Note: If you have OS X 10.6 on Intel which is 64-bit instead of 32-bit, you
must make sure that the MacPorts gtk2 package is available in the 32-bit
version. To do this, type the following command in Terminal after it's
installed:
sudo port upgrade --enforce-variants gtk2 +universal

But I get these errors
Error: Target org.macports.build returned: shell command failed (see log for
details)
Log for atk is at:
/opt/local/var/macports/logs/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_ports_devel_atk/main.log
Error: Unable to upgrade port: 1
