 Thanks! ;) That was not a great deal, but I was busy elsewhere and
 couldn't get down to it before.
 I have successfully built Atlas on my G5 MacPro with gcc45/Leopard, so
 ppc64 seems all right too (Numpy tests pass ok).
 I can't build for ppc 32-bit (G4), so I rely on the goodwill of someone
 else.
 Will build i386/x86_64 (gcc45/S.L.) tonight and see.

 Now, that's a good lesson. Atlas development snapshots seem to be released
 without any extensive checks, so we ought to be careful before updating
 blindly.
