 I agree with the decision to use the latest snapshots of `atlas`. The
 package was semi-kind-of abandoned for quite a while, and produced
 incorrect or very, very slow output for a whole slew of modern CPUs and
 compilers. I think it was important to update.

 Anyway - my clean SL port with the latest (r76462) works fine, as does
 octave (atlas dep) and numpy.

 Vince - small patch attached to remove hardcoded version numbers (as per
 lint).
