Comment:

 The relevant error from the sqlite3 main.log is:

 {{{
 :info:build gcc-4.2: -E, -S, -save-temps and -M options are not allowed
 with multiple -arch flags
 }}}

 This is a new problem for sqlite3 3.7.4; 3.7.3 did not have any problem
 building with the universal variant.

 This problem has also been mentioned in #27877.
