 I've attached a patch that solves the issue and is formatted the way
 Macports likes it.

 Just add this line to your Portfile:

 patchfiles                      patch-src-gv_mis_res.dat.patch

 And that fixes the problem. I've tested it on two computers in the
 Astronomy Department here and the issue is resolved.
