 Disabling x11 does not seem to be the way to avoid libpng in the
 dependency tree; however, the +no_gnome_vfs variant of gst-plugins-base
 would remove dependencies upon gconf -> gtk2 -> pango -> cairo ->
 libpng.[[br]]
