 So does reinstalling and modifying the Portfile fix your problem?  Your
 previous response was unclear.  As for the startup process, the port used
 to explicitly invoke StartupItems/VirtualBox/VirtualBox, but that got
 taken out in favor of using MacPorts' StartupItems.  It seems that the
 best solution now is to wait for a fix from the MacPorts base itself
 regarding deactivation.

 Could you download the latest Port archive and "merge" your changes?  That
 away I can see them better.
