 I tested the gcc45 and gcc46 variants last night. The gcc45 one worked
 just fine, but the gcc46 one failed to configure since the macports option

   configure.compiler      macports-gcc-4.6

 was not known. Looking through a few other ports it looks like this
 compiler is a little more experimental than the others, and needs to be
 treated a little differently at the moment. If you know how to fix it
 fine, otherwise maybe just remove the gcc46 variant for the moment ?
