 Inkscape 0.48.[0/1] has had serious bugs when compiled as 64bit.  The
 source patchfile provided here fixes two of the most significant bugs:

 https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/629363
 https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/743530

 All should be resolved in 0.48.2, but this provides a needed fix in the
 meantime.
