 Ok, looks like in all cases, fetch is failing, but the log isn't
 explaining why. And if you completely uninstalled MacPorts and reinstalled
 it, then that should have ruled out an installation problem. Is there
 anything unusual about your Internet connection? Do you use a proxy server
 for example? If so, have you informed MacPorts of it using macports.conf?
 Has MacPorts ever worked before for you?
