Comment:

 bzr and related ports all need to use the same python version. As we
 cannot depend on specific variants special checks are required to make
 sure it will always work as expected. I decided not to maintain different
 variants of python, but go with the latest 2.x release instead.

 Is there any feature you would gain besides reducing the number of python
 ports installed?
