Comment:

 Ok, I think that confirms that the error "Invalid value
 'com.apple.compilers.llvm.clang.1_0' for GCC_VERSION" has been resolved.
 (I assume that's what they meant in the NEWS entry for 2.21 when they said
 "Fix compile error in the 2.20 tarball").

 The new error you're now seeing is covered by #29398.
