Comment:

 Committed in r78576 with these changes:

  * patched makefile to ensure we're UsingTheRightCompiler and archs
  * added universal variant
  * installed documentation file ([wiki:PortfileRecipes#doc])
  * since we're now patching the makefile anyway, patched the makefile in
 various other ways to make it more generally useful and to simplify the
 portfile
  * specified version of GPL
