 4.0.1 does not seem to have the problem.

 I would supply a patch for the Portfile, but I'm not sure what to do with
 the patches (as they do not apply cleanly to 4.0.1) and I can't get
 MacPorts to download the current version 4.0.3 from SourceForge.
 Also, this port uses a default compiler and thus errors out when using the
 settings as described in the "How to test" section of
 UsingTheRightCompiler.
