Comment:

 There are many changes that were made to arm-elf-gcc to make it compatible
 with newer versions of Mac OS X and MacPorts that were never backported to
 arm-elf-gcc3. My initial attempt to backport them all at once failed to
 let arm-elf-gcc3 build, so I may have to try again, bringing back
 individual patches.
